Sundays 11:00am & 6:30pm
Our commitment is to be a Bible-based, Christ-Centred and Spirit-filled congregation. Our core activity when we meet together each Sunday is to worship God. We do so in a simple and reverent manner, that involves praise, prayer and preaching. We believe that everyone can enjoy a personal relationship with God by putting their trust in Jesus Christ and to best understand this, the majority of our time together on a Sunday is given to the preaching of God’s word. It is as we hear the word and take it to heart that we are best placed to honour God in how we live.
In order to encourage and enable families to come along we provide activities for children and a crèche for the younger ones. This is run by people within the congregation.
We believe that God hears our prayers and that prayer is a vital part of our spiritual life. We meet in our hall each Wednesday evening to study the Bible and pray together. This is a very important part of church life in Leith Free Church.
We are always looking to put on events that allow us to spend time together and often, in support of good causes. Each Friday there is a free lunch provided in the church hall; men’s breakfasts feature regularly; a woman’s group will be relaunched in 2018 and several social events involving Stornoway black pudding are also planned!
