I am a Twenty year old student, living in Edinburgh. I have just completed my second year at University, studying Mathematics and Statistics. I have been going to Leith Free church for most of my life, but it was usually just because my parents did. When I was 15, I was asked to work the sound system, which I decided to accept.

During the summer holidays, I had been going to the Free Church Youth camps. When I was 18, I went to a camp in Oswestry, and that was the first time I really considered being a Christian. I prayed at the camp, but when I came back I wasn't sure if I had become a Christian. Over the next year till the next camp I kept wondering if I really had become a Christian or not, so I prayed again before the camp, asking to be made sure whether or not I was a Christian.

"If you ask sincerely, God won't say no."

The first night at camp, someone else asked how to be sure they were a Christian, and the leader answered: "If you ask sincerely, God won't say no". I knew that I had done that, so I took this as being an answer to my prayer. When I came back from camp, I decided to join the church as a member. I don't feel much change, but I have gone back to reading the Bible and praying, which I had stopped before. I have now started going to the Wednesday prayer meeting, which I have found a real help.
