I have been married to Jessie for 22 years and we have four children: Matthew, David, Rebekah and Lydia whose ages range from 21 to 13. We also have a cat called Kai which apparently means beautiful or in Greek, means 'and/but'. I became a Christian in 1987 (See Colin's testimony) and shortly after that trained to be a Social Worker in Aberdeen, having done a number of temporary jobs and completed some further education courses in a local FE College before this. Jessie and I returned to Lewis upon the completion of my studies in Aberdeen in 1991 where I began working for the local Social work Department and where I remained for 12 years. We moved from Lewis to Edinburgh in 2003 where I studied at the Free Church College for 3 years, and having completed my studies there I received a call to Leith Free Church where I have been the minister since August 2006.
